Client Testimonial

“I quit drinking from the day I first met you on May 13th, 2008. I am delighted to tell you that as a result of quitting alcohol, I have already lost 8 lbs. I am continuing to watch my weight and have no desire to drink.

After your second and third sessions, I have been sleeping well, and take only about 20 minutes to fall asleep. Once I go to sleep, I'm good for the night.

I am extremely pleased with the 'new me.' Thanks for everything!”

Morpheus in Lifestyle Magazine: “Results Through Relaxation”

Lifestyle, a high-end magazine distributed through The Globe and Mail, recently featured The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis in a feature article about hypnotherapy. To read the full story, click on the link after the quote:

When it comes to weight loss, you haven’t tried everything until you’ve tried hypnotherapy.

As one client says, it changed her life.

“I am now 13 pounds down!” she exclaims, “I am happy with my relationship with food and am confident that it will continue to go down…Before these sessions I felt like food was controlling me. Now I feel free!”

This woman went to The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis in Toronto. She achieved the ability to choose what to eat and, more importantly, what not to eat.

NOW Magazine

Luke Chao is often quoted in Elizabeth Bromstein's health and lifestyle column in NOW Magazine.

With hypnosis, clients feel dissociated from their bodies and are able to perceive pain without suffering from it. We ask clients to give a shape, colour and texture to the feeling they experience. Turning the experience to a visual image helps clients dissociate from the pain. With pain, our unconscious mind is trying to tell us that something needs investigation. We have to thank the unconscious mind for giving us the signal. We tell clients to express to the unconscious mind that they have received the signal and it’s unnecessary to keep communicating it. If you resent that you have pain, you’ll feel emotional suffering in addition to the physical pain

It’s much easier and clearer to move toward something you want rather than away from something you don’t want. If a rocket wants to go to the moon, it’s going to head straight there and make adjustments to ensure it’s on course. If all you know is that you want to get off Earth, you’re going to get lost in space. Don’t think of getting out of a rut; think of getting what you want. If you set goals too high, you set yourself up for failure. If people set bite-sized goals, they have a pattern of success after success. That’s very motivating.

Toronto Star Article: “Crawling Into Clients’ Brains”

We might have preferred a less visually evocative title, but we hope you appreciate the metaphor. Here's how the interview begins:

Q: In the movies, hypnotists are strange characters who operate out of mysterious lairs. What are they like in real life?

A: My office is as professional as can be – there used to be a lawyer and his wife who ran a film production company in this space. Professional office, no beads, no crystals. But there are some people who take a spiritual approach to hypnosis. They get their clients, I get my clients, and there's literally no overlap. For people who want down-to-earth, practical, pragmatic hypnosis, they tend to come here. Depending on who you ask, people would either say I'm kind of weird or that I am normal. But everybody has their quirks.

Video: CityNews Story on Hypnotherapy at Morpheus

This video offers a glimpse of what it's like to visit The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis (in this case, for a session on social confidence):

This segment aired on February 9, 2010 as part of CityNews's "Love in the City" series leading up to Valentine's Day, at our offices in downtown Toronto. The hypnotherapist is Luke Chao, founder of Morpheus Hypnosis.

Newspaper Article: “Success Through Hypnosis”

On Wednesday March 18, 2009, Ryerson's student newspaper The Eyeopener featured our hypnosis centre in their feature story on hypnotherapy:

Will Lam was in a rut and needed to turn his life around. His marks were down and he couldn't quit smoking. So, two years ago, the part-time accounting student decided to try hypnotherapy.

"I was sick of not getting a lot out of life, mediocre results," Lam said. "At that point in time, I was willing to try everything and anything. I just decided to give it a chance."

And the results were outstanding. Lam gave up cigarettes and all of his marks improved by at least one full grade per class.

"With respect to change, it's sort of like replacing a broken record and getting a new one that works," he said.

Hypnotherapy can help people lose weight, reduce pain and overcome phobias, but it can also help some become better students — especially if they have treatment now while they're still young.

Luke Chao, founder of The Morpheus Clinic, where Lam was treated, said about five per cent of his clients have been students, from high school to university age.

Results-Based Hypnosis Manifesto

Our associates are united by a humanistic, naturalistic and client-centred approach to hypnotherapy.

Results-based hypnosis is a reaction against mysticism in hypnosis. It rejects "supernatural" explanations of hypnosis, and focuses instead on tangible results in the real world.
