Ask Yourself These 10 Questions to Find Out!

Most people who choose to experience hypnosis will learn something from it, but hypnosis doesn’t have the same effect on everybody. Like most psychological qualities, the capacity to be affected by somebody else’s suggestions exists on a continuum.

To roughly assess your suggestibility, ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do you cry easily during movies?
  2. Do you yawn when other people yawn?
  3. Do you have a hard time saying no?
  4. Are you quick to learn new things?
  5. Do you make impulsive decisions?
  6. Do you experience strong emotions?
  7. Do you have a vivid imagination?
  8. Do you have creative hobbies?
  9. Did you have an imaginary friend as a child?
  10. Do you have a history of trauma?

Please add up how many times you answered yes to these questions. You can be honest with yourself, as we will not be asking for your answers.

Assessing Your Answers

Most people, who are average in suggestibility, answer yes to a few questions but not more than half. This is a good outcome, since you are likely to benefit from each hypnosis experience.

If you did not answer yes to any of the questions above, you are almost certainly low in suggestibility, and hypnosis is not likely to help you very much.

If you answered yes to five of these questions or more, you are probably high in suggestibility. This isn’t great in every situation, but it means you are an excellent candidate for hypnotherapy.

Suggestibility Is Only the Beginning

When it comes to hypnosis having a positive impact, your suggestibility is an important first step.

The rest is up to your hypnosis professional. Once we you know that you are suggestible, we have a duty to communicate only what we believe will help you. This means we must care deeply about truth and morality.

Thankfully, you’re in good hands. The Morpheus Clinic for Hypnosis has been in the hypnosis business for over 16 years. During this time, we’ve helped over 8000 clients from all walks of life, and we’ve gained insights into the human condition that are certain to help you. Most of the issues we see are not problems with specific individuals like you, but societal problems that happen to manifest in individuals.
